Women's Pre-Release Center
The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office Women’s Pre-Release Center was established in 2021 to help prepare women to make a successful return to the community at the conclusion of their sentences with a particular focus on family engagement and reunification.
The center is situated in a standalone building on the grounds of the Middlesex Jail & House of Correction and includes private bedrooms, as well as spaces for programming and face-to-face meetings with family and children.
In addition to specific programs available to residents, individuals also have access to other programs and services available at the Middlesex Jail & House of Correction including:
- The MSO’s nationally recognized Medication Assisted Treatment And Directed Opioid Recovery (MATADOR) Program.
- Educational programs – including college courses.
- Reentry planning – including enrollment in MassHealth, housing assistance and voter registration.
- Eligibility for consideration in the MSO’s Electronic Monitoring Program and work release initiatives.
