Middlesex Jail & House of Correction
Individuals seeking to post bail must arrive at the Visiting Center at the Middlesex Jail and House of Correction between 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., but no later than 7 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
All bails must be posted in cash only.
Individuals posting bail must present a valid government-issued photo identification (driver's license, passport, etc.).
Those with questions about posting bail should call 978-667-1711. After 4 p.m. and on weekends, callers can press extension (0).

Detainees and inmates can use funds to purchase canteen items including toiletries, clothing and food.
Funds may be deposited at the Lobby deposit center kiosk between 6 am to 10 pm. You can also place funds on an account by visiting the Access Corrections website or by calling 866-345-1884. For your convenience the Middlesex Sheriff's Office now accepts MasterCard and Visa.

Property pick-up and clothing exchanges are by appointment only Monday through Friday with 24-hours notice. Property must be picked-up by a formerly incarcerated person or designee (indicated by name on either MSO Property Release Form or Notarized Letter). To make an appointment, please call 978-932-3153.

Middlesex Jail & House of Correction
The Family Support Services Unit works with correctional staff to respond to inquiries, requests, concerns, and/or complaints raised by family members of individuals in the custody of the MSO. The unit also engages families through outreach and education and provides information, assistance, referrals, and support to family members during the incarceration period.
Additionally, members of the unit work to educate family members about rules and policies regarding visits, mail and telephone contact, and other routine information, as well as conduct proactive outreach to families when incarcerated individuals are identified by staff as being in distress or experiencing a crisis.

Incarcerated individuals can collect leftover funds by calling 978-667-1711 and contacting the Canteen Department at extensions 3162, 3270, 3239, or 3290. After providing an accurate address, Canteen will mail a check made out to the individual's name. Individuals cannot collect funds in person at the facility.
