MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Marlborough Police Chief David Giorgi and Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian today announced that 64 Marlborough police officers recently completed interactive, scenario-based training facilitated by the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office (MSO).
The training was completed between August 12-23 in Marlborough utilizing the MSO’s Mobile Training Center (MTC).
During the training, officers were put through a series of video-based scenarios that replicated situations they may need to respond to on any shift. This included responses to disturbances, traffic stops and calls for individuals exhibiting signs of a potential mental health crisis. Officers also participated in active-shooter scenarios.
“Our department’s partnership with Sheriff Koutoujian and the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office has been essential to bringing these valuable training events to the police officers of the City of Marlborough. Realistic training sessions which allow for interaction with the video scenarios offer a unique setting for our officers to sharpen the skills needed to protect and assist all members of our community.”
