Law Enforcement
The Special Operations Division encompasses all areas of internal and external security and law enforcement. Entrusted to protect not only the integrity of Middlesex Sheriff's Office facilities, members also provide assistance to fellow law enforcement agencies inside and outside the county.
The division includes several units, comprised of specially trained deputies and officers. Among the units are the Inner Perimeter Security (I.P.S.), the Mountain Bike Unit, the Warrant Apprehension Unit (W.A.U.), Mobile Operations and K-9.

Individuals with information regarding the whereabouts of wanted fugitives may contact the Middlesex Sheriff's Office Warrant Apprehension Unit at 617-682-4890.
- How do I report a law enforcement impersonation scam call?

Residents who receive scam calls in which individuals identify themselves as Middlesex Sheriff's Office deputies or officers may contact the MSO at 978-667-1711 and ask to speak with the Inner Perimeter Security (IPS) Unit. Individuals are also encouraged to notify their local police department and the Federal Trade Commission, by clicking on this link: FTC Reporting Fraud.
Individuals who receive scam calls in which perpetrators identify themselves as local or federal authorities are encouraged to notify those departments or agencies directly.
