The 34th Basic Training Academy

Week 6:

The recruits were instructed on defensive tactics and restraints led by Sergeant Crane and Officer Balian.  They learned new strategies and how to use handcuffs.  The day was complemented with classes on crisis negotiation taught by Deputy Cardoso and Deputy Donoghue.

Lessons on constitutional law taught by Joseph Blair and communication skills taught by Mr. Brian Greeley followed through to week 6.  Mr. Blair shared his knowledge on various criminal laws. 

The recruits returned to learning about first responder, were tested on CPR, and took a first glimpse at radio communication, taught by Captain William Buckley.
