MSO IN TRAINING...
The 34th Basic Training Academy
Week 16:
Week 16 was filled with each recruit doing presentations.
Each individual focused on a specific aspect of corrections that interests them.
Lieutenant Gordon Clark stopped by on Monday with his K9 dog Lox who performed a narcotics search for the recruits. Recruit Patrick MacDonald stepped right up to the plate in demonstrating the K9 dog’s strong force.
Sergeant Brian Crane and Officer Kristen Delafano led the recruits through a move team practical. They each got to practice their knowledge using 3 person teams, the restraint chair, etc.
Ms. Crystell Anthony from Boston University held a two-day course on understanding and managing conflict. Many of the areas brought up were how to manage peer to peer conflict, peer to boss conflict, as well as different conflicts that arise with relationships in new jobs.
“I teach them tools to be effective when conflict happens,” said Instructor Anthony.
