Training
The men and women of the Middlesex Sheriff's Office belong to one of the oldest
Law Enforcement agencies in the United States. As our responsibilities and
duties have evolved over time so too has our training. We now provide our
employees with the most comprehensive and regimented training component in the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Increased from a mere
two weeks to eighteen, the training of our Correctional Officers and Deputy
Sheriffs reflects our commitment to providing a professional, safe and secure
environment for our employees and the inmate population we are responsible
for.
We have also ensured that a constant process of learning is part of our
curriculum by instituting mandatory forty hour annual retraining. The
